Recently, operatives of Chernivtsi Border Guard Detachment together with representatives of the National Police, under the procedural supervision of Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor's Office, detained a minibus in a village in Chernivtsi region.

Besides the driver, there were two passengers in the vehicle - all citizens of Ukraine. Law enforcement officers determined that the driver was a deputy of one of the district councils and a co-organizer of the scheme of illegal transportation of males across the state border. Together with the organizer of the scheme, he promised two men to transport them to Romania outside the BCPs for a financial reward of EUR 5.3 thousand each. Later, the main organizer of the illegal activity was also detained.

Subsequently, law enforcement officers conducted searches at two places of residence of the suspects in the criminal proceedings, as a result of which they confiscated more than EUR 20 thousand and USD 4.8 thousand, SIM cards, mobile phones, bank cards and draft notes. Moreover, 2 cars were confiscated from the offenders. The organizer of the illegal scheme and his fellow offender face imprisonment for a term of 5 to 9 years.
